For me, this is the time of year for whiskey. Or maybe time of year is just a convenient excuse. At any rate, local favorite Stranahan’s just moved their operation into my neighborhood. I think a bottle of their Snowflake edition would be a great holiday gift. But while I’m on the topic, I have to say I’m a bit disappointed in the restaurant they let open up on their spot, you’re on notice Rackhouse, anyone that describes their decor as Steampunk and then lets a guy down by basically being a sports bar complete with a million tv’s and bad video games, well, come on. Ditch those tv’s and games already. Except maybe the punching bag game, because, well, that’s fun.

Yeah its time to restock, although I’d recommend not combining Stranahan’s and Monopoly at xmas time . . . tensions rise.
True Story: I bought a bottle for the 2008 presidential election party we had at our house and swore the bottle would be opened after a new president had been declared. Needless to say, the bottle was empty before the New Jersey polls were closed.
