Matchbook Registry

In one of my design classes I had my students overhaul gum packaging, I’m thinking now, matchbooks would have been a dandy project. Limited space, limited configurations, with a concise message. Good stuff, via The Matchbook Registry.

    My grandpa has a desk drawer full of old matchbooks he’s collected. I may have to scan a few…

    You should post some of your student’s gum packages. Where do you teach?

    Those are so cool. I try not to save these things anymore, but I wish I had my grandmothers. And I know I’ll wish I had ours 20 years from now.

    I helped as an adjunct at the University of Wyoming for a while when they were short staffed in the graphic design dept. Fun stuff.
