Joining the ranks of the other hideously good wagons of the world is the Toyota Tercel 4wd. We had a shiny gold number when I was growing up and it proved to be one of the best vehicles we ever added to the arsenal. I loved my tercel wagon. Was so sad when the motor wore out and I didn’t have the money to put a new one in.
My first and third cars were Tercel Wagons. Amazing in the snow and off-road. My favorite memory is driving on HWY 20 from Oregon to Ennis, MT for Thanksgiving in a blizzard. There were lines of SUV’s over on the side of the road, either chaining up or waiting for the snowplows to clear the way. My Tercel had no problem and I got there just in time for Turkey.
